A repeat client from Lynchburg recently brought by his 2012 Dodge Challenger by for a backup camera system. We’d recently done some audio upgrades on his 2010 Challenger. Now that he had a new car, it was time for some improvements.
One thing that his new Challenger was missing was a backup camera. The Challenger has a relatively large “rear end.” The large dimensions can make seeing out of the back a bit tricky. The client was reasonably happy with the factory stereo system, so he wanted to leave that factory screen intact. Thankfully, we had just the solution for him.
As we’ve posted multiple times about Jeep Wranglers, one of our suppliers called NavTV makes an excellent camera interface. This plug-and-play interface for the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep MyGiG radio displays the image from an aftermarket camera on the factory screen. The interface also unlocks some other features of the navigation system.
This interface allowed us to add a Rydeen HD Camera on a license plate bracket. The operation is identical to having a camera installed on the assembly line. Put the vehicle in reverse and the image appears instantly.
Now all he has to do is pop the vehicle in reverse, and the camera shows right up on the factory screen. The interface also has additional video inputs you could use for things like blind spot cameras and more.
Having a hard time backing up in your Dodge Challenger? Any of the Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep models with the MyGiG radio can have a camera added. Stop by one of our Richmond-area locations in Mechanicsville or Midlothian to go over the solutions we have for you.

Hello,
I have a 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser. The navigation system is showing me a message “NO DISK DETECTED” I was wondering if you guys have an idea on how to fix this problem? and how much it would cost me?
If i can get this problem fixed I would also want to install a back up camera as well.
Thanks.
Yousef, Thanks for the comment! One generic thing to test would be to take a look at the navigation disc in the center console. Many times, they have been in there so long, they’ve glazed over with dust and need to be cleaned off. If this doesn’t help, we can definitely have the unit repaired for you. Contact us at 804-559-3589 and we’d be happy to see what we can do to help. Thanks!
